    Recital at Carman United Church

    On Friday, May 24, 2019, the Golden Prairie Arts Council in Manitoba, Canada will be hosting the provincial debut piano concert by Luke Welch at Carman United Church. The performance begins at 7:30 pm and continues the album release tour for The Return – released in February 2019. The album includes works by Beethoven, and Schumann and is available here for CD purchase, or click here for download.

    The concert includes Ludwig van Beethoven’s early Rondos Op. 51 as well as his iconic "Funeral March" Sonata in A-flat Major, Op. 26.  Chopin Nocturne Op. 48, No 2, as well as the composer’s fiery Scherzo No. 1 in B minor, will start the second half of the afternoon’s program, and Robert Schumann Carnival Jest from Vienna (Faschingsschwank aus Wien), Op. 26 will round out the evening's program.

    Mackay Concert Series

    On Sunday, September 22, 2019, Luke Welch will be returning to Canada's capital city and will present a recital at Mackay United Church, hosted by Mackay Classical Concert series.  Welch, a regular performer in Ottawa, will be making his first appearance in this series and will be presenting a concert program which includes Mozart Sonata in A Minor K. 310, Schumann Sonata No. 1 in F-sharp Minor Op. 11, and more.

    Windsor Symphony Orchestra: Intimate Classics Series

    On Friday, October 18, 2019 Windsor Symphony Symphony - conducted by Maestro Robert Franz - and Luke Welch will combine musical forces as part of the Intimate Classics Series.  This three-day event through southwestern Ontario, Canada begins at St. Andrew's United Church in Chatham.  On this occasion, the performance will feature Mozart Concerto in A Major K. 414 - a delightful work written with the versatility to be played by as large as a symphony orchestra or as small as a string quartet. 

    This concerto represents the twelfth piano concerto of Mozart, and was composed in Vienna in the autumn of 1782.  It is catalogued with K. 413 and K. 415, which were also composed around the same time in the early stages of the composer's career and were written in a similar hybrid style as to accommodate a large ensemble or chamber group.   The series will continue over the weekend on Saturday, October 19 in Leamington, and Sunday, October 20 in Windsor.

    On Saturday, October 19, 2019 Windsor Symphony Symphony - conducted by Maestro Robert Franz - and Luke Welch will combine musical forces as part of the Intimate Classics Series.  This three-day event through southwestern Ontario, Canada begins at St. Andrew's United Church in Chatham on Friday, October 18.  On this occasion, the performance will feature Mozart Concerto in A Major K. 414 - a delightful work written with the versatility to be played by as large as a symphony orchestra or as small as a string quartet.
