On Friday, May 5, 2023, Arraymusic in Toronto, Canada presents Luke Welch in recital for his official album release performance of Samuel Coleridge-Taylor: Piano Works.

Samuel Coleridge-Taylor: Piano Works is a recording featuring a collection of rarely performed solo piano pieces by the famed Black British composer, in addition to world-premiere performances.

This recording will be officially released on May 5, 2023 and available worldwide in both physical (CD) and digital (streaming) formats. A self-described ‘Anglo-African’, Coleridge-Taylor was a leading composer of the early 20th century whose music had a profound impact in Europe and in the United States of America. Heralded by his contemporaries as the ‘African Mahler’, this moniker was given with utmost respect for Coleridge-Taylor’s excellence as a violinist, composer, and conductor.

Limited seating is available on a first-come-first-served basis and must be booked online in advance. A special meet-and-greet with the artist will take place after the performance, including a reception for all attendees. The performance begins at 7:00 pm.
