Windsor Symphony Orchestra: Intimate Classics Series
7:30 pmLeamington United Mennonite Church - Leamington (Ontario), Canada
On Saturday, October 19, 2019 Windsor Symphony Symphony - conducted by Maestro Robert Franz - and Luke Welch will combine musical forces as part of the Intimate Classics Series. This three-day event through southwestern Ontario, Canada begins at St. Andrew's United Church in Chatham on Friday, October 18. On this occasion, the performance will feature Mozart Concerto in A Major K. 414 - a delightful work written with the versatility to be played by as large as a symphony orchestra or as small as a string quartet.
This concerto represents the twelfth piano concerto of Mozart, and was composed in Vienna in the autumn of 1782. It is catalogued with K. 413 and K. 415, which were also composed around the same time in the early stages of the composer's career and were written in a similar hybrid style as to accommodate a large ensemble or chamber group. The series will conclude with the finale on Sunday October 20 in Windsor at Heritage Auditorium (2:30 pm).
